Moomins at Arabia website yesterday. Have you met the
Finn Family Moomintrolls? I was introduced to their stories years ago and have kept an eye out for these Finnish characters ever since. Written and illustrated by Tove Jannson, the moomin books tell the story of a carefree and adventurous family who live in their house in Moominvalley, in the forests of Finland. They have many adventures along with their various friends: Sniff, Snifkin, Little My, The Stork Maiden, The Groke, Hemulens, Hattifatteners, Too-Ticky, The Mymble, Fillyjonk, Thingumby and Bob, and many others. While they are virtually unknown in the US, Moomins are at the hight of popularity in Finland and Sweden (there is even
Moomin World!).
