friday flowers: lavender farm

Hi friends!
I'm so glad it's the weekend. The summer cold everyone else seems to have finally snuck up on me and I'm so glad to be home. It's pretty rough acting professional at work when your nose is running, eyes are watering and you croak every time you try to talk.

Sick people are really better off at home next to a big box of Kleenex and a mug of peppermint tea.

I'm looking forward to many, many mugs of that tea and lavender oil (my mom's secret weapon). Speaking of Lavender ...

Bethany, my sister and I stopped by an organic lavender farm on Sauvie Island in Oregon. It smelled wonderful! The bees were having a hay day and we walked the isles, drinking in the purple fragrance.

Do you have any weekend plans? Anything fallish you are looking forward to? I'm looking forward to a visit from an old friend and her family next week! We haven't seen her in a long time. In fact, I was a little girl the last time I saw her. But time closes the age gap a little and blogs have an amazing way of bringing people together. Go check out her site to see her adorable little munchkins and read her beautiful writing.

Happy weekend blog friends!

  1. Aww! Such cute pictures. I think I stopped by the same farm earlier in the summer! I ended up making simple syrup for ice teas and lemonades. Yum!

That must have been a most excellent trip, at least according to your pictures! We are truly looking forward to a little time with you all our trip!
